1  More than 60% OF AMERICANS are not college graduates and more than 80% of careers do not require a four year college degree! Great Start leaders are taking on a huge leadership role in organizing an Employability Consortium to help local businesses and colleges promote employability training and certificate training for skilled trades occupations, especially for parents.

FLUORIDE RINSE Programs In Schools Work!

2  Health Educator KELLY RUMPF is a huge leader in promoting fluoride rinsing in schools. Kelly reports that schools that have their students rinse once per week are seeing a reduction in tooth decay 25% to 30% resulting in less cavities for children.

 

 

3  CHILDREN IN MOTION is a new program presented by Deborah Choszczyk, local dance teacher!

Deborah, a Great Start leader and popular dance teacher recently authored a series of 3 children’s books promoting movement for children. Deborah lives her life abundant energy and movement and she strongly believes in the importance of young children MOVING each and every day!

Deborah is a featured presenter at the Family Resource Centers
and local elementary schools.

4  THE UNITED WAY OF DICKINSON COUNTY recently awarded the Great Start Drug Task Force and the Imagination Library Program funding for 2017-2018.

BARB MESSER, Director of the United Way of Dickinson County and the United Way Board are huge advocates for school drug prevention programs and early literacy for young children. Great Start greatly appreciates all the contributions United Way makes to support families in our community!
